PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Seagrass Storage Basket is a handmade storage piece from Vietnam, designed for buyers who want natural home products with a refined look. Its full, round body comes with a fitted lid and two woven side handles. The upper half is wrapped in white thread over light natural seagrass, and the lower half is wrapped in black thread for a clean two-tone finish.

Practical and decorative at once, it works for laundry, blankets, towels, toys, cushions and display. The lid keeps contents out of sight and free of dust. For importers and retailers, it offers a clear story: natural material, handmade in Vietnam, and a lidded basket with a graphic two-tone design that stands out on the shelf.

MADE IN VIETNAM: THE CRAFT BEHIND EVERY BASKET

Vietnam has a long tradition of working with natural fibers, with skills passed down through families and craft villages. Tan Tien Factory builds on this tradition, working with local artisans who know how to coil, bind and shape natural materials into durable, good-looking home products.

Every basket is shaped by hand. A round body with a lid takes skill: the weaver must keep the coils even, the curve smooth and the opening true, so that the lid sits flat and fits properly. The change from white thread to black thread must also line up cleanly all the way around. The handles and the lid are made separately, then fitted by hand. No two pieces are exactly alike, which gives your customers a product with character and a story they can trust.

MATERIAL: SEAGRASS

Seagrass is a natural plant fiber that is harvested, dried and twisted into thick, even strands. Coiled and stitched in tight rows, it forms a firm wall with a warm, textured surface. The lid shows the fiber’s soft green and golden tones, and the body shows its lighter natural color.

Seagrass is renewable and plastic-free, which matches the growing demand from buyers and consumers for eco-friendly home goods. It is also lightweight, so the basket is easy to carry and ship.

THE ROUND SHAPE WITH LID

The full, rounded body is the practical strength of this design. It holds bulky items such as blankets, towels, laundry and toys, while the round footprint fits neatly beside furniture, in corners and in bathrooms or bedrooms. The fitted lid hides clutter, keeps dust out and gives a flat top where a small item can be placed.

The soft, rounded outline also looks more like a decor piece than a plain container.

DESIGN DETAILS

The split between white-wrapped coils above and black-wrapped coils below is the signature of this design. The light upper half keeps the basket fresh and bright, while the dark lower half adds depth, grounds the shape and helps hide marks from floors and everyday use. A framed rim gives a clean edge where the lid meets the body.

The lid has a small handle on top for easy lifting, and two woven handles on the sides make the basket easy to carry. The palette fits boho, Scandinavian, Japandi, coastal, farmhouse and modern interiors.
