PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Water Hyacinth Storage Basket with Loop Handles, Chunky Woven, Natural, is a handmade storage piece from Vietnam for buyers who want natural home products with strong texture and visible craftsmanship. Its thick, chunky weave, with raised strand ends along the surface, gives the basket a rich, sculptural look that stands out from smooth, fine-woven baskets.

It works as a storage basket, a laundry basket, a planter cover or a statement decor piece. For importers and retailers, it offers a clear story: natural material, handmade in Vietnam, and a bold texture that photographs well and attracts attention on the shelf.

MADE IN VIETNAM: THE CRAFT BEHIND EVERY BASKET

Vietnam has a long tradition of weaving natural fibers such as water hyacinth, rattan, bamboo and seagrass, with skills passed down through families and craft villages. Tan Tien Factory builds on this tradition, working with local artisans who turn simple aquatic plants into durable, good-looking home products.

Each basket is made by hand. A chunky weave uses thicker strands, so the weaver must shape and place each one by hand to keep the structure firm and the pattern balanced. No two pieces are exactly alike, which gives your customers a product with character and a story they can trust.

MATERIAL: WATER HYACINTH

Water hyacinth is a fast-growing aquatic plant. The stems are harvested, cleaned and sun-dried, then prepared into strong, flexible strands. The result is a soft natural color with a warm, slightly textured surface that suits any room.

Making use of a fast-growing plant gives the product a sustainable story. It is renewable, lightweight and plastic-free, which matches the growing demand for eco-friendly home goods.

THE CHUNKY WEAVE

The chunky weave is the signature of this basket. Thicker strands are woven in a bold, open pattern, leaving the ends slightly raised along the surface. This creates a three-dimensional texture that catches the light and adds depth to any room.

Thicker strands also give the basket a sturdy body. It holds its shape when filled with blankets, laundry or toys, and the relaxed, organic look suits boho, coastal, farmhouse and Scandinavian interiors.

DESIGN DETAILS

The loop handles are woven into the rim, so they feel like part of the basket and not an added piece. They give a comfortable grip for lifting and carrying, and they add a graceful curve that softens the shape.

The natural, earthy color blends easily with wood, linen, cotton and other natural materials, which makes the basket simple to style alone or in groups.
