PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Handwoven Water Hyacinth Storage Basket with Coiled Weave and Two Handles is a handmade storage piece from Vietnam for buyers who want natural home products with a soft, textured look. Its tightly coiled rows and two sturdy side handles give it a calm, rustic character that suits living rooms, bedrooms, nurseries and bathrooms.

It works as a blanket basket, laundry basket, toy storage or decor piece, so one product can serve several shelf categories. For importers and retailers, it offers a clear story: natural material, handmade in Vietnam, and a style that matches the strong demand for boho, coastal and Scandinavian interiors.

MADE IN VIETNAM: THE CRAFT BEHIND EVERY BASKET

Vietnam has a long tradition of weaving natural fibers such as water hyacinth, rattan, bamboo and seagrass, with skills passed down through families and craft villages. Tan Tien Factory builds on this tradition, working with local artisans who turn simple aquatic plants into durable, good-looking home products.

Each basket is shaped by hand. Coiling takes patience and a steady hand, because every row must be wound tightly and bound evenly to the one below. No two pieces are exactly alike, which gives your customers a product with character and a story they can trust.

MATERIAL: WATER HYACINTH

Water hyacinth is a fast-growing aquatic plant. The stems are harvested, cleaned and sun-dried, then twisted into strong, flexible strands. The result is a soft natural color with a warm, slightly textured surface that suits any room.

Making use of a fast-growing plant gives the product a sustainable story. It is renewable, lightweight and plastic-free, which matches the growing demand for eco-friendly home goods.

THE COILED WEAVE

Instead of a standard over-and-under weave, this basket is made by coiling. The twisted strands are wound in continuous spiral rows from the base upward, and each row is bound to the one below it.

Coiling produces a firm wall and a stable shape, so the basket stands upright and holds its form when filled with blankets, laundry or toys. The visible rows also give it a distinctive rope-like texture that looks good in catalogs, online shops and in-store displays.

DESIGN DETAILS

The two handles are attached firmly on opposite sides of the basket, so customers can lift and carry it comfortably, even when full. Their natural tone blends with the body and keeps the look clean and simple.

The open top makes loading and unloading easy, and the soft texture also makes the basket a good fit for items like throws, pillows and baby blankets. The natural color suits boho, Scandinavian, coastal, farmhouse and modern interiors.
