PRODUCT OVERVIEW

The Water Hyacinth Storage Basket, Rectangular, with Cut-Out Handles, is a handmade storage piece from Vietnam for buyers who want natural home products with a clean, practical shape. Its low rectangular form, tight spiral-style rows and built-in cut-out handles give it a tidy, modern look that works on shelves, tables, desks and entryways.

Where round baskets can waste space, a rectangular basket fits neatly against walls, inside cabinets and on shelving units. For importers and retailers, it offers a clear story: natural material, handmade in Vietnam, and a shape that suits real storage needs in today’s homes.

MADE IN VIETNAM: THE CRAFT BEHIND EVERY BASKET

Vietnam has a long tradition of weaving natural fibers such as water hyacinth, rattan, bamboo and seagrass, with skills passed down through families and craft villages. Tan Tien Factory builds on this tradition, working with local artisans who turn simple aquatic plants into durable, good-looking home products.

Each basket is shaped by hand. Rectangular baskets are harder to make than round ones, because the weaver must keep straight sides, square corners and an even rim while the natural strands want to curve. No two pieces are exactly alike, which gives your customers a product with character and a story they can trust.

MATERIAL: WATER HYACINTH

Water hyacinth is a fast-growing aquatic plant. The stems are harvested, cleaned and sun-dried, then twisted into strong, flexible strands. The result is a soft natural color with a warm, slightly textured surface that suits any room.

Making use of a fast-growing plant gives the product a sustainable story. It is renewable, lightweight and plastic-free, which matches the growing demand for eco-friendly home goods.

THE RECTANGULAR SHAPE

The rectangular form is the signature of this design. Straight sides and rounded corners make the basket easy to place on shelves, under console tables, on desks and inside storage cubes, and the wide opening makes it simple to see and reach what is inside.

The shape suits everyday items such as magazines, mail, remote controls, towels, toiletries, toys, pantry goods and craft supplies. It also works as a serving or gift basket, which gives retailers more ways to merchandise it.

DESIGN DETAILS

The cut-out handles are formed directly in the side walls, so they sit flush with the basket and do not catch on shelves or clothing. They give a comfortable grip for lifting and carrying, and keep the clean outline of the basket.

The tightly wound rows create a rich, rope-like texture that looks good both empty and full. The natural color fits boho, Scandinavian, coastal, farmhouse and modern interiors, which makes it easy to sell across different decor styles.
